How to Delight a 15-Year-Old:
The other day, my son was in the throes of an intense pizza craving. Hey, he’s fifteen and perpetually hungry. So, he decided to order a pizza online.
In the text box labeled “Special Instructions”, he entered the following:
“Please have the delivery person bow to me when presenting my pizza. Thank you very much.”
Because he’s a gentleman.
About thirty minutes later, the pizza arrived. My son opened the door to find the delivery guy down on one knee, head bowed, pizza lifted upward in grand presentation.
“You guys are nothing short of awesome”, my son said and handed the guy a very generous tip.
My son learned two valuable lessons that day: Saying “please” and “thank you” goes a long way. And humorous attention to great customer service goes even further.
